When should you come?
In Rovaniemi, the dark-sky Northern Lights viewing season usually runs from late August to early April. Sightings depend on darkness, clear skies and geomagnetic activity. September and October bring darker nights and autumn scenery, with the timing of autumn colours varying each year. Late winter offers more daylight for activities while nights are still dark.
Consider staying several nights for more viewing opportunities; no stay length guarantees a sighting.
